ranking for my nick hasn't been something that's a priority... it's more of an ego thang...
for the longest time I just didn't give a damn, since it's not a money keyword I didn't pay any attention to it... but a little while back (around the time of the big server move) I did become mildly annoyed that my personal site
poto's personal website and random webmastering stuff :: potomoto.com still wasn't even ranking for "poto" in either google or yahoo :|
so, I took a look at my rather crappy web 1.0 html pages... which I did entirely by myself in notepad while heavily stoned
cuz I'm old skool like dat yo! - which, in hindsight was probably part of the problem...
and realized I was doing something somewhat retarded... there I was half-assed trying to rank for a non-adult keyword but with adult keywords in the title and meta tags... oops... so, I cleaned those up, took out the naughty keywords, and viola now I'm #5 for "poto"...
google hates pr0n... so, if you have adult keywords especially in your title, odds are you won't rank for anything mainstream on that page... I knew this before, was just too lazy to fix it...
of course now that I posted about it, some douchebag will probably knock my site back to page 10 or something just to be spiteful... almost every damn time I mention one of my rankings publicly I lose it
