Ok lets have a nice quick, think what you like, say what you like, even if it may be wrong just say it and we can analyse it later.
You are going to build a mega site. Ok so content is done on there, its complete, just needs updating etc. for the sake of matters, lets say its selling vodka. How would you then go about building its pr/serps and general traffic up in order to constiutute it as a mega site? Brainstorm time Network of blogs running into it via different i.p.s Submit it to all the big directories press release on vodka news website Traffic trades with other vodka websites any more brainstorms? |

Vodka implies mainstream product. I'd hire a PR firm and do a press release. PR firms maintain an emailing list that would get you listed on more sites than you could think of.
Let's say that PR firm is to expensive. I'd still do a press release outlining the new site/product. Try to find a opt-in email service that will do the email for ya. Traffic trades presents it's own set of problems, I'd skip it. You need one way links. Yahoo is kinder about SERP without a ton of back links. SEO optimize and have tons of content the SE will see. You decide whitehat/blackhat here. Long term real content is better. |

building small feeder sites and blogs that 'run into it' is probably a good idea too... |
