Thanks Poto, I'm such a lazy $%^&$% I just copied my sitepoint intro. I have to say I liked the Ring of the Nibelungs too, but I's an old guy, and a fanboy of Tolkien since the 6th grade. :-)

New here and, as requested by the BHC rules, I'm introducing myself.

Spent too many years spinning my wheels chasing the "next great thing" before I stopped that crap and focused on one biz model. I then took a blog to #1 in G for a not-to-competitive term and was able to make my house payment and a bit more selling my own products to the IM crowd.

I got burned out on that because it was a huge time suck and got to be not-so-much-fun.

Turned that off and decided to to go peak at what the gray hat, black hat, blue hat and cake hats were doing. It was an eye opener to say the least!

I'm here because I learned so much from them that I decided to see how the adult webmasters were doing things and maybe learn even more.

Current work: I'm not doing anything in the adult world but I have a chunk of aged domains that I'm building up slowly. I'm also rapidly building out an infrastructure of gray and black.

My strengths are as a marketer and my weakness is in the technical end of things. I can't admin a dedicated server so I'm stuck for now with managed services. I can chicken scratch HTML and CSS. I am decent at reworking templates to rid them of footprints but want to get better and even make my own. So... I'm improving my HTML and CSS skills and spending some quality time with beginner level PHP books.

That stuff's not hard to me just new because I programmed extensively in BASIC and COBOL in the early 80's. Shit... just gave away my age.

I don't ask stupid questions because I know how to use G but I may be just a learner for a while before I can contribute.

hi bonusdays, and welcome to the dark side...

as for your weaknesses on the tech side... don't sweat it... I can't do a lot of that shit either... but luckily most of that stuff can be outsourced fairly cheaply... on the other hand, strength as a marketer is a lot harder to come by
