I came across this today:
20 Websites With Unique Layouts | Vandelay Website Design

if you're stuck for inspiration for the layout of that rad new site you have in your head, might be worth a minute or 2 to take a peek...

some of them kinda suck and venture into lame territory... but there's some interesting ones there too...

I noticed a few with horizontal layouts, which I personally hate cuz I can't use the scroll wheel on my mouse... oh well, it does seem to make them stand out a bit...

a tip for you designers building horizontal sites out there...

include an option on the page to flip it to a vertical layout...

I think I've one seen one horizontal site with that option so far...
